Cambodia is a country almost twice the size of Hungary on the shores of the Gulf of Thailand (or the Gulf of Siam). The name of the country was derived from the Indonesian name of a mimosa tree. The former French colony won its independence in 1953. The occupation of Vietnam during the war (American, South Vietnam) was followed by a period of twenty years of civil war. Nearly 97% of the country's population is a Buddhist believer.
ECONOMY
Cambodia agriculture country. After the turmoil of the 1970s, the economy began to develop more significantly from the second half of the 1980s. After the economic downturn in 1997, the country's GDP grew by an average of 5% since 2000. Despite the high level of development, poverty is still lagging behind and is a big problem compared to neighboring countries.
The country's gross national product (GDP) is expected to increase by 6.9% in 2018, with this growth rate among the six fastest growing economies in the world in the year.
NATURE
According to the rain, the natural vegetation cover of the pool is the rare, deciduous monsoon forest, and the savannah, the rainiest mountainous area is the evergreen rainforest. The lake is surrounded by a special, water-loving wooded savannah, as it floods the water of the swollen lake for several months a year. There are mangrove marshes along the coast. As a result of wars and intensive logging, forests have become somewhat shaken and some of the species living here have disappeared or become endangered. In the flat countryside, Palmira palm is typical.
TOURISM
Cambodia is rediscovered by Western civilization itself. As in the 19th century, Henri Mouhot, a French naturalist, found Angkor in the middle of the jungle, the adventurous tourists are now discovering the palm tree white sandy Koh Rong islands.
