Hungary were represented by the associates of the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture, the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the African Hungarian Union at the dinner.

The Minister spoke about the unutilized tourism opportunities in Uganda. He emphasized that although the tourism sector is expanding in his country, he is dissatisfied with the figure of 1.5 million international tourists. There are three World Heritage Sites in Uganda. Two of these are natural phenomenons which are the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and the Rwenzori Mountains National Park. The third belongs to the World Cultural Heritage category according to the WHC database. This is the tomb of the Kings of Buganda in Kasubi. The minister had brainstorming about promising opportunities with his dinner guests.

As a result, further discussions will continue on two topics. The serious intent for a follow up is reinforced by the fact that Minister Kamatu invited the associates of the HTCC and AHU to his office in order to explore the ideas regarding the project. The associates of the two organizations were excited about the invitation. It is expected that in April there will be an exchange of thoughts on exploring opportunities in Kampala.

Sándor Balogh, president of the African Hungarian Union and the Hungarian Trade and Cultural Center, assured the minister that his colleagues would seek to explore as many opportunities as possible during the visit. In addition, he also offered to send a tourist specialist to get acquainted with the current tourism development plans and to make suggestions for the necessary improvements.
